Seven Songs for the Eight

seven songs

So I thought it’d be nice way to cap off winter with seven songs on high rotation (I’ve also been tagged by Oz from Decomposing Trees).

  1. Beach House – Astrounaut
Makes me want to lie down in a field of dandelions, or sunflowers and dream the best dream ever.
  2. Bachelorette – A Lifetime
More warmth, optimism and beauty. Less cheesy, duration and over-the-top cute. See also (1).
  3. No Age – Teen Creeps
Best track from the best album of the year – fact!
  4. Rubies – Stand In a Line (Shinichi Osawa Remix)
The catchiest remix I’ve heard this winter. It makes it feel like summer.
  5. Jens Lekman – I Don’t Know If She’s Worth 900kr
Awkward romanticism courtesy of crooner, Jens Lekman. Rejection is better sung; the slap to the face isn’t as hard.
  6. Smog – Our Anniversary
On a good day, it hits home. On a bad day, it’s emotionally draining.
  7. Hot Chip – We’re Looking For A Lot of Love
R’n’B in an indie suit. Could be joke right? But not.

Our Anniversary is like hard candy on a sunny day.
