Thursday Digested: Grizzly Bear, The Scare and Parades

I thought I would never see the day a promising young band would emerge from my residential vicinity. Sydney quintet, Parades, have been busy playing shows and recording their new album, which they assure me will be out in the next few months. It is endearing indie pop with bright lights. Definitely a band to watch out for in the near future.

Don’t forget the new sophomore album from The Scare, oozevoodoo, is out real soon and if you haven’t hooked onto their latest single “No Money”, here it is again. It’s quite appropriate given the current economic crisis.

ALSO just in, is a track from Grizzly Bear‘s latest record, Veckatimest (out May 23). Some amazing clips of their recent shows have been popping up all over Youtube notably their show at Brooklyn Academy of Music with Final Fantasy both of whom were accompanied with the Brooklyn Philharmonic. Sydney Festival organisers, please take note.

See you in America!
